Calling all Junior School Clifton Rosarians

Would you be interested in joining an online workshop to explore your memories and experiences of Clifton High Junior School? Date: Wednesday 25th Sept, 7:30 – 9:30, via Zoom

What was it like to learn and go to school in Clifton?

What are your memories of Clifton High Junior School and the surrounding neighbourhood?

How do you think going to school there has affected your life and opportunities?

Join a small group of former Clifton High students for a relaxed online workshop run by experienced facilitators. You will be invited to share your memories of school, either positive or difficult, and your hopes for the future of education through discussion and creative activities.

Your participation in the workshop will feed into a collaborative map that will form part of a ‘People’s History of Schooling’, an interactive map that explores experiences of primary schooling in Bristol. Schools and the wider public will be able to view the online map to learn more about the histories and inequalities of schooling in Bristol, and how people imagine a fairer education system. Your contributions will be anonymised (unless you choose to be identifiable) and we will send you a £30 gift voucher as a thank you for taking part.

The workshop is being run as part of the Reparative Futures of Education (Repair-Ed) research project, based at Oxford University. The project involves collaborating with 10 primary schools across Bristol to learn more about experiences of schooling and educational injustices, and explore ideas for building just educational futures. Your participation will help the researchers understand more about different experiences of schooling across the city over time. The workshop is designed by Studio Susegad, a creative studio in Bristol exploring rest, care and connection in community settings and arts spaces. How do I find out more and book a place?

Please get in touch with the project Researcher, Alice Willatt (she/her): alice.willatt@education.ox.ac.uk / 07515764139.

We look forward to hearing from you!
