Earlier this month, as a result of the impact of the Covid 19 pandemic, School announced a 20% reduction in school fees for the summer term 2020. The crisis has, however, profoundly affected the livelihoods of a number of our families whose income has been devastated through isolation and social distancing. For these families, even with the 20% discount, they are currently unable to cover the costs of their school fees.
Over the past weeks we have also been overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of several CHS families and Friends who have offered to continue to pay their fees in full or have asked to made a donation to the School; for this we are hugely appreciative.
In response to this situation, we have launched The Head’s Extraordinary Hardship Fund. This is a ring-fenced, means tested fund targeted solely at supporting those families most seriously financially affected by the crisis. Governors have already taken the decision that the School will make an initial donation of £100,000 to the fund.
We would be extremely grateful for any further donations, big or small, to this unique hardship fund to support and help our current families and ensure that everyone currently at Clifton High is assured continuity in their education. Your donation will be eligible for Gift Aid so increasing the amount we are able to receive. In order to make your donation, please visit the support us page
Dr Neill, Governors and the Development Office are extremely grateful for the support of our Friends. Our first priority is always the children and young people and their futures, but we must also continue to safeguard the School’s position as a business so that when we return to a ‘new normal’, the School continues to thrive.
