GCSE Results Day 2020
Results Day at Clifton High
This morning we were truly delighted to welcome the Year 11 pupils and their families to School to collect their GCSE results. This occasion, whilst still very different in the current circumstances, was rightly, a celebratory one. We only wish that our A level students, who received their results this time last week, were given that same opportunity to enjoy their excellent achievements.
Collectively, Clifton High pupils attained an outstanding set of GCSE results, outperforming previous years, with an increase in the top grades. Boys and girls performed equally well, with the same proportional increases across all subjects. This significant accomplishment is testament to each and every one of them. Our successful transition to a co-educational school over a decade ago, and the introduction of the evidentially beneficial Diamond Edge Model of Education is reaping rewards, both at GCSE and A level this year.
As we look forward to the commencement of School from September, these Year 11 pupils will become Sixth Form students, and provided they continue to work hard and support one another, the world is their oyster.
The School sends a heartfelt congratulations to each and every one of these GCSE pupils and the A level students, who now have achieved the results they truly deserve. The strength of character, composure and mature behaviour displayed in these hugely stressful and extraordinary times was impressive and noteworthy. In addition, the genuine care and support they showed for others in their peer group was admirable. We wish each of them every happiness and success as they start a new and exciting chapter in their lives.
